What Data We Collect

HanziPro does not collect analytics, telemetry, advertising identifiers, account data, location, contacts, or payment information.

What Data We Share

HanziPro does not share user data with third parties.

What Data Leaves Your Device

Nothing leaves your device automatically.

The app can create files when you choose to export a full backup zip or a zip of vocabulary CSV files. Those files are handed to Android's system share or file picker UI. You choose where they go.

What Is Stored Locally

Folders and vocabulary lists
Words, pinyin, meanings, and notes
Generated character review cards
Writing attempts
Review events and practice sessions
App settings

Writing attempts are stored as stroke point data so the app can redraw them. They are not uploaded.

Offline Reference Data

HanziPro bundles Chinese dictionary data and character stroke data as app assets. These reference files are not personal data.

Backups And Deletion

Export: Use the app's Data screen to export a backup or CSV zip.
Restore: Restoring a backup replaces the current local study database with the selected backup.
Deletion: Uninstalling the app or clearing app storage deletes HanziPro's local database and settings from the device.

Exported backup files are ordinary files. If you save them to cloud storage, protect them the same way you would protect any personal study document.
